Basel is Switzerland’s lesser known holiday destination. The city lies on the north western corner of the country and shares its border with France and Germany. The city has the offices of some of the best pharmaceutical companies.
The city is partitioned into major spots which are called as Great Basel and Little Basel. These two parts are connected by several bridges. But there are several places and attractions that are situated in both of the parts to visit and explore.

It has some of the best collections of art that belongs to 19th and 20th century. Another famous museum is Jean Tinguely Museum. The museum is famous for its collection of animated mechanical works that are dedicated to Swiss artist Jean Tinguely.
Other sites that are worth visiting are Basel Zoo which is the oldest and largest in the entire Switzerland. Rhine River also provides you a quiet and serene ambience. The bridges that are built on the river offer excellent vantage points to enjoy the river. You must also admire the various projects that are carried out in Voltaplatz.
