Le Creusot is a commune in the Bourgogne region in France. It was mainly a mining town. But today its economy is dominated by Arcelor Mittal, Schneider Electric and Alstom. Le Creusot is the second educational center of Bourgogne after Dijon, with it’s the Condorcet university center and Institutes universitaire de technologie (UIT) University. This city id directly connected to London also with Eurostar train services.

This town was developed in 1990 with an aim of developing its tourism industry. Its main tourist attraction is the Parc des Combes which is a park located in Le Creusot in Burgundy. This park is made up in the forest ambiance and it constitutes one of the most attractive tourist spots of the town, mainly because of its tourist train, called Train des combes. The French word Combe can be interpreted as an anticlinal valley, due to the location of park in the old Morvan Valley. On the top of the hill there are Roller Coaster and a Karting Circuit.

The Creusot steam hammer: Creusot steam hammer was built in 1877 in Le Creusot. It was designed to give blows as heavy as 100 tons. It was the most powerful hammer until 1891. This hammer was built by Schneider and Co. and later it was patented by Bethlehem Iron Company operating in United States (US) and built a larger hammer with a blow capacity up to 125 tons. This hammer was named as a Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 1981. This hammer was retired from its services in 1969 and was placed at Le Creusot town square. Although it is non functional today but still it serves as a tourist spot and a reminder of technological achievements that this town has achieved in the past era.
